About Newman's Dog Training

Newman's Dog Training LLC is a Kansas City business that has since added a northwest Arkansas location; the Kansas City number is 816-769-3631. The about page dates and explains it: "Newman’s Dog Training was created in 2011 to share with the community how to train dogs effectively while building the relationship between the owner and their dog."

Method

The stated approach is to work from the dog's perspective rather than from compliance: the business "likes to see the world through the dog’s perspective and train based on how the dog feels and perceives their environment. Through management, rewards, and consistency you can have your dream dog." The home page describes the in-person work as "Private, in-home sessions using positive reinforcement", and the site says it specializes "in one-on-one training with our clients to come up with a training plan that is specific to their needs within their household".

The range of programs

The navigation is unusually wide. Dog training covers mobile dog training, day training programs, therapy dog training, behavior modification, service dog training, maintenance training, an eBook, online courses and virtual sessions. Puppy training covers mobile puppy training, day training, board and train, a Puppy Basics course, a K9's First Behaviors course and an Advanced Behaviors course. Cat training is offered, and so are dog walking and pet sitting in Kansas City. The intake form lists the bookable packages as Board and Train 2 Weeks, Board and Train All Inclusive 4 Weeks, Board and Train Advanced 2 Weeks, and in-person blocks of four, six and ten sessions.

Reach

The business says it has expanded beyond the metro: "We started in Kansas City but have expanded and can now help clients all over the world with our virtual training sessions and Online Puppy Academy". A free phone consultation is the starting point. The site has pages for trainers' certifications and methods; ask which credentials each trainer holds.
