What they do

Dave's STL K-9 publishes one of the fuller package menus in this metro on its own site. The puppy course teaches owners the principles of raising a well-socialized puppy. A foundation obedience package runs weekly private lessons at the facility for up to eight weeks, covering a named command set. A ten-day drop-off program follows it and works on off-leash commands with a remote collar and focused heeling. Maintenance packages extend distance, duration and distraction afterwards, and there is a separate confidence-building course for scared dogs, new-to-owner dogs and rescue dogs, and an introduction to Rally.

Testing and club status

The site publishes a Canine Good Citizen class and a separately priced CGC test, and states that the business's trainers are Certified AKC Temperament Test Evaluators and that it is an AKC Fit Dog club.

Practical notes

Prices are published but the site itself warns they are subject to change and may not be current, and asks callers to confirm. A travel fee is published for clients within five miles of the facility, and can be applied against a purchased package.

The approach

Its own words are that the training approach is catered to each dog because all dogs are different, and that the goal is the best possible owner-dog relationship.
