About Service Dogs for Veterans
What they offer
Service Dogs for Veterans (SD4V) is a Greenville nonprofit whose home page describes a unique training program in which veterans train their own service dog, to help them cope with loss, traumatic memory and the loneliness of survival. The program is framed around three stages: assessment, recovery and healing.
Who it is for
The program is aimed at veterans rather than the general public. The site describes its purpose as helping veterans reclaim their lives, one dog at a time, and says it has been doing so since 2014.
The organization
The About page introduces the leadership, including its Executive Director, Cy, who has served on the board since the organization began. As a nonprofit, SD4V takes donations through its site.
