About Dog U

What they offer

Dog U, in Homewood, combines training with daycare and boarding. Its Training page describes three train-and-board programs of one, two and three weeks, each combining individual training sessions, private lessons with the owner and group follow-up classes. It also lists private lessons, group classes and what it calls education daycare.

Group classes

The Training page lists a puppy class for puppies from 12 weeks to 5 months, a basic class for dogs 6 months and older, and an intermediate class for dogs that have finished either one. Classes are capped at seven dogs, meet for four consecutive weeks, and enrollment is by phone.

How the training works

The page says the programs work on commands such as sit, stay, down, off, leave it, wait, place and walking on leash, plus crate training, tailored to each dog's needs. It adds that these lessons can be done in-home instead of on-site if requested, and recommends starting with a call to one of its trainers.

Good to know

The home page says Dog U opened in 2018 and that a sister company handles grooming.
