About Jackson Obedience Training
What they offer
Jackson Obedience Training Club is an all-volunteer, non-profit club in Jackson, founded in 1969 and licensed by the American Kennel Club. It offers classes to the general public in the Jackson metro area, taught by volunteers who train and compete with their own dogs.
Classes
The Classes page lists sessions that run at Old Trace Park and at Lakeshore Church. They include AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy for puppies from three to twelve months, a Basic Obedience class for dogs six months and older, a follow-on class that teaches the exercises for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test with testing at the end, and a Rally class for dogs that have completed the club's Basic Obedience. The page says payment is due at registration.
Beyond classes
The home page says the club also sponsors AKC obedience and Rally trials and offers Canine Good Citizen testing, and the About page describes members active in rally, agility, barn hunt, therapy visits, scent work and herding.
