About Diamond in the “Ruff” Dog Obedience Training
Classes with a pack-leader focus
Diamond in the "Ruff" Dog Obedience Training is a Baton Rouge obedience school run by Denise Landin, who is credited with 35 years of experience teaching owners to train dogs or modify troublesome behavior. She believes dog training is dog-owner specific and teaches owners how to become their dog's pack leader, making sure they apply each technique correctly.
Programs and prices
Group classes run five weeks at the Louisiana State Archives on Essen Lane, one evening a week in spring, summer and fall and on weekend afternoons in winter. The basic group class ($225) covers sit, down, come to a front sit, heeling, 30-foot sit-stay and down-stay, and socialization. The advanced class ($225) adds stand-stay, emergency down, off-leash heeling, out-of-sight down-stay and drop on recall. Private lessons are $185 per hour at her home office, with house calls for an extra fee. All group classes carry a lifetime guarantee, so a dog can repeat a class at no charge. Group classes suit puppies from about 3 months, once vaccinated.
