Black Bayou Boarding Downtown is a cage-free daycare and boarding location at 500 Broad St. in downtown Lake Charles, owned by Taylor, who also runs the original Black Bayou Boarding. Every dog is evaluated before its first stay, and the business has been locally owned and insured since May 2017.

Training

Training at this location is run by Bayou Pawsitivity, which books private training, board and train and group classes held here. Puppy classes for 12 weeks to 5 months cover sit, down, leave it and loose leash walking, plus potty training, puppy biting and crate training. Level 1 for dogs 6 months and up adds drop it and place and tackles jumping and counter surfing. Level 2 adds stay, heel and center and prepares for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, and Therapy Dog Prep works through simulated therapy situations. Hybrid training pairs daycare with one hour of training, Monday through Friday, for $300 per week. Board and train has a two-week minimum for $1,200, with each additional week $600. Daycare enrichment days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays are open to dogs that finished Level 1.
