About Elite Obedience Training
Obedience and sport training in Ankeny
Elite Obedience Training operates in Ankeny and helps owners learn to communicate with their dogs in a way that strengthens their bond. The team tailors its training style to each individual dog, whether the need is a starting point for a new puppy, basic obedience, bigger behavioral issues or dog sports.
The trainers
Owner and trainer Mackenzie Goshorn has been training since 2016 and trains and competes with her German Shepherds in Schutzhund (IGP), with dogs holding IGP, AKC obedience, rally and CGC titles. Trainer Shanna Simpkins has worked with dogs since 2010 and competes in AKC Obedience, Rally and IGP, and trainer Cynthia came to training through rescue fostering. Mackenzie and Shanna take private lessons and board and train clients for puppy foundation, basic obedience, off-leash training and behavior modification in the Des Moines area.
Programs
Puppy 101 is for dogs between 10 and 16 weeks. Obedience training ranges from basic household manners to advanced skills, off-leash obedience and competition prep. Board and train keeps the dog with the trainers for a few weeks, and a basic obedience group class is on the calendar.
