About Winans Retriever Kennels

What they offer

Winans Retriever Kennels is a retriever kennel at 11272 S 14th Ave in Dodge City that breeds British Labradors and trains gundogs. Its training page lists three programs. The puppy program begins at 4 months of age, runs 30 to 45 days, and covers sit, stay, place, here (recall), kennel and crate training, with an introduction to water depending on season.

Gundog programs

The gundog program covers hold conditioning, steadiness to wing and shot, marked retrieves out to 150 yards, land and water doubles, and an introduction to gunfire and game. The advanced gundog program works toward longer marked and blind retrieves, casting with hand signals, triple and quadruple marks, and honoring other dogs.

Who trains

The site names Blaine Winans as head trainer and owner and says he established the kennel in Dodge City in September 2019. Ask about program length and availability when you call.
