About Hutchinson Kennel Club Inc

What they offer

Hutchinson Kennel Club is an all-breed member club of the American Kennel Club at 131 S. Washington in South Hutchinson. Its motto is "We train you to train your dog," and its classes page lists group courses in basic obedience, puppy kindergarten for puppies 8 to 18 weeks old, an older-puppy class for dogs 5 to 12 months, agility from beginner through coursework levels, an introduction to scent work, and a therapy dog prep class.

Class format

The basic obedience class is for dogs from 5 months through adulthood and covers walking at your side, sit, down, come and stay, plus canine manners and household problems. It runs eight periods of 50 minutes. The club asks for veterinarian vaccination records before a dog can take part.

Beyond basic classes

The club information page says it offers the AKC Canine Good Citizen program and can help owners prepare for obedience, agility, conformation and herding competition. It also hosts an AKC dog show, an agility trial and an obedience and rally trial each year. Check the club's class list for current start dates.
