About Minnesota Canine Consulting, LLC
Police K9 trainers serving families
Minnesota Canine Consulting was founded in 2015 by Eagan police officer Andrew Helgerson, who retired in 2021 after 22 years in law enforcement and 17 in police canine. In May 2022 the business bought 10 acres and Acres of Fun Pet Resort in rural Scott County, where it offers boarding alongside training for civilians and law enforcement. The team of trainers includes many current and former police officers.
Board and train
Boot camps run three to eight weeks at the facility, with progress videos posted to YouTube. Packages are Basic/Behavior Modification, Intermediate and Puppy Camps, and Advanced Off Leash.
Private and in-home sessions
Private and in-home sessions address problems like jumping on guests and counter surfing, and let owners work at their own pace, starting with a free consultation. Financing is offered.
Police K9
The eight-week Tactical Police Canine Handler's Course, for licensed law enforcement only, leads to a Minnesota POST approved police canine certification.
What owners say
One client wrote that after boot camp their dog "is trained off leash, heels at the first command."
