Kristy Francis Dog Training serves Northern Hennepin, Eastern Wright, Southeastern Sherburne and Western Anoka counties in Minnesota. Its stated mission is "to provide force free, rewards based behavior modification and training," and Kristy Francis describes her philosophy as humane training backed by science.

Background and method

Kristy writes that she found her passion for training after hiring a trainer for her own fear-aggressive puppy, then completed the two-year program at Jean Donaldson's Academy for Dog Trainers and earned its Certificate of Training and Counseling (CTC). She trains with motivation, which can be treats but also fetch, play with another dog or walking through a doorway, so the dog is "paid" for the work it does, with the aim of protecting the trust between dog and owner.

Services

Private sessions cover basic manners, fear, aggression, leash reactivity, resource guarding, problem behaviors and puppy training, and she invites owners to get in touch about concerns beyond that list.
