Rufnit Kennels, LLC, at 5900 Saltillo Road in Lincoln, is a Braque du Bourbonnais breeder and trainer owned by Shari Stueck. Established in 1978 and licensed in the State of Nebraska, it originally bred and trained Cocker Spaniels and Labrador Retrievers for AKC obedience and field trials before turning to the Braque du Bourbonnais in 1993. It describes itself as the oldest active Braque du Bourbonnais breeder in the US, with progeny in 13 countries, and as the sole recipient of NAVHDA's Natural Ability Breeder Awards for the breed.

Training

Training works with owners and their dogs to build a positive companionship, covering obedience and field training for family companions and weekend hunting partners. Because of its success with the breed, the kennel has committed its training exclusively to the Braque du Bourbonnais, limits clients to a maximum of four at any given time and requires advance reservations. Its dogs take part in NAVHDA, AKC/FSS, IABCA and UKC tests and shows, and its companions live in the family home.
