About Meraki Dog Training
Tailored training in Lincoln
Meraki Dog Training has served Lincoln since 2016 and opened its current facility at 5220 S 48th St in July 2023, after starting with home visits and a converted one-stall garage. Training plans are tailored to each dog and household, with an emphasis on structure, clear communication and real-world guidance beyond obedience drills. The trainer brings more than a decade of earlier work in Child Protective Services and has traveled to work with trainers across the country. The business takes its name from the Greek word for doing something with soul, creativity or love, and grew out of the owner's work with Bristal, a highly reactive shelter dog.
Programs
An in-person consultation ($150, applied to a private training package) covers the dog's struggles, training tools, leash handling and a tailored plan. The Real Life Ready Foundations program teaches come, sit, down, place and heel on leash, a kenneling routine, waiting politely for food and at thresholds, calm leash walking and good manners at home. The Real World Ready Balanced Behavior program targets off-leash reliability, distance communication, dog reactivity, resource guarding and fence fighting.
