About Pawsitive Affects

What they offer

Pawsitive Affects is a nonprofit dog training team based in Green Valley that serves Green Valley, Sahuarita and the surrounding areas. It specializes in dogs with challenging behaviors, including dogs labeled aggressive, reactive or unadoptable, and works with families in their homes.

How they train

The site describes science-based behavior modification that addresses a dog's emotional response rather than suppressing behavior: the trainers observe first, then build a customized plan. Training is donation-based, and the team says it does not set session limits and stays with a family until the dog gets where it needs to be.

About the trainers

The team is led by Mikie Smith, CPDT-KA, joined by other trainers and volunteers.
