Balanced training and a K9 hotline

The Underdog is a balanced dog training business in Salt Lake City run by owner Hannah, billed as Balanced Dog Training & K9 Hotline. Hannah became a trainer after years of working with a fearful, destructive rescue, then completed a dog training education course covering everything from basic obedience to detection, tracking and agility. The training uses a simple reward-correction system, and teaching the handler is a core part of every program.

Services and prices

In-person training covers behavior modification, obedience, communication and puppy training. A 5-pack of lessons is $650, valid for 6 months, suited to nuisance issues like slow obedience; a 10-pack is $1,050, valid for 12 months, for more severe issues or high performance goals. Scentwork classes, including Intro to Scentwork and Scentwork Intermediate, are $175, and group classes are by invite. Weekend classes are available, and contact is by text.

Her dogs

Hannah's Belgian Malinois, Linda, holds a long list of AKC titles and placed first as National Prelim Dog in Detection Dog Trials at the 2024 Nationals.
