About Herding Dog Nerd

Reactivity help for herding breeds

Herding Dog Nerd is a herding breed behavior specialist serving Corvallis, Philomath and Albany. Trainer Suzanne Dubnicka, PhD, CPDT-KA, FDM, CPCFT, holds a certificate in Applied Animal Behavior (UW-AAB) and specializes in reactivity in herding breed dogs.

Approach

Suzanne follows the Least Inhibitive, Functionally Effective (LIFE) Model and builds training plans around a dog's L.E.G.S.: learning, environment, genetics and self. She works with herding dogs that chase cars, bikes and runners, try to control people or pets, bark at the neighborhood, nip at feet or use aggressive displays to guard family, territory or toys.

Services

Private coaching is in-person, combining reactivity work with practical manners and life skills, and currently runs from a waitlist. Live and on-demand webinars take deep dives into living with and training herding breeds.

What owners say

One owner of a shy border collie wrote: "In short, Suzanne gave me my dog back!"
