About Synergy Veterinary Behavior
Veterinary behavior practice in Northwest Portland
Synergy Veterinary Behavior, at 2127 NW York Street, unites veterinary medicine, animal behavior and pet training to help families address problem behaviors in dogs, cats, birds, horses and exotics. It is led by board-certified veterinary behaviorist Valli Parthasarathy, PhD, DVM, DACVB, and Scott Raymond, MS, CPDT-KA.
How it helps
The team evaluates a pet's mental and physical health from a whole-animal perspective and uses humane veterinary behavior and reward-based training methods. Common concerns include fears and phobias, reactivity and aggression, house soiling, destructiveness, excessive vocalization and separation distress.
Services
Behavior health assessments are two-part consultations with Dr. Valli, starting with an in-person physical and behavioral evaluation. Private training and behavior modification sessions are taught by experienced, certified trainers using positive reinforcement, and group classes for dogs and cats focus on foundational skills, socialization and real-life application. Thermal imaging is also offered to detect inflammation or discomfort.
