Training and boarding in Paradise Valley

Querencia Kennels is a dog training, boarding and daycare kennel near Livingston, in the heart of Paradise Valley between Livingston and the North Entrance of Yellowstone Park. Calls go to Joe, and the phone is answered 24/7. The kennel has 20 outdoor runs, land for dogs to run and play, and group time morning, afternoon and evening. Small, older and infirm dogs are treated kindly and with respect, and anxious dogs get long on-lead walks or house visits.

Training

Every boarding dog gets some training in coming when called, kenneling and politeness. Basic training uses food drive, retrieve drive, prey drive and affection to motivate dogs. Basic Obedience covers sit, stay, here, down and heel with e-collar conditioning. Puppy Training addresses house training, crate training, jumping, nipping, mouthing, chewing and socialization. The Comprehensive Training Package adds kennel on command, quiet, tug, an introduction to tracking, retrieve drive work and whistle sit and come.

Rates

The 14-day Boarding & Training package, the most popular, is $2,500, and private sessions with the owner are $100. New Puppy Board + Train for puppies 8 to 12 weeks old is $200 per day. Daycare is $40 per day and single-night boarding is $50.
