About Dustin Retrievers Montana
Retriever training in Twin Bridges
Dustin Retrievers is a family-owned training, breeding and boarding kennel with a Montana location in Twin Bridges, where Sara and Brett are the contacts. The family says it has trained and raised Labrador and Chesapeake Bay Retrievers full time since 1989, and it welcomes all breeds for training and boarding.
Programs and prices
Each program costs $975 a month, including boarding and food, plus birds for the field programs. Puppy Introduction (4 to 6 months of age, 2 to 4 weeks) introduces water, birds and field situations with very limited pressure. All Breed Obedience takes about 6 to 8 weeks and covers sit, heel, here and kennel, plus manners and distractions. Obedience with Retrieving runs about 3 months and suits casual hunters and upland hunters. Gun Dog Training takes about 4 months, and Advanced Training teaches hand signals and whistle response for hunting and Hunt Tests. The kennel seldom uses an electronic collar until a dog thoroughly understands the commands. Evaluations are free, and one-on-one follow-up visits after training are free.
What owners say
Mike and Carla D. of Twin Bridges wrote that "Sara and the team treat every dog like their own."
