About Storm Castle Canines
Gallatin Valley boarding and training
Storm Castle Canines is a Bozeman dog boarding and training business offering day training, boarding, board and trains, private lessons and group classes in the Gallatin Valley. Owner and head trainer Kenzie Hegstad started it to create a place she would be comfortable sending her own dogs. The team describes a structured training approach, a priority on continuing education, and training meant to be practical in owners' day-to-day lives.
The trainers
Kenzie grew up with retrievers, started her training career with a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and now also competes with a Belgian Malinois, across AKC Obedience, Trick Dog, Dock Diving, Schutzhund (IGP) and hunting. She is certified as a LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) trainer and holds a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife. Her approach centers on learning what motivates each dog and channeling natural drives into fun, meaningful training. Trainer Mary Rippel came to dogs after nearly a decade managing horse facilities and worked in the day training program. Animal husbandry coordinator Hannah Devery helps with care and training.
What owners say
One client who used a 6 week board and train, day trainings, private lessons and boardings wrote that the results with their reactive German Shepherd "have been life changing for us."
