About NORTHERN PLAINS GUN DOGS

Gun dog training in Athol

Northern Plains Gun Dogs is a professional gun dog training business at 16429 Front St in Athol. Its specialty is training hunting dogs for upland hunting, waterfowl hunting or both, and the standard curriculum can be tailored to how each owner likes to hunt. The trainers describe over 30 years of combined dog training experience.

How training works

The Basic Training Program typically takes a minimum of two months, since every dog learns at its own pace, and owners get updates throughout by email, video, phone and text. Training properties include lakes, rivers, thick CRP grass, cattail sloughs, tree lines and corn fields, so dogs experience a wide range of cover. Trainers are on site seven days a week, and the facility is kept clean and comfortable so dogs can relax when out of the field. The team uses positive reinforcement and also works with owners so they can continue training at home.
