About Guides Choice Retrievers

What they offer

Guides Choice Retrievers is a retriever training kennel in Burns, east of Cheyenne, run by owner Kyle Fagler, a former waterfowl guide. It mainly serves professional guides and serious hunters, training dogs from basic obedience to advanced gun dog skills.

Programs

The basic gun dog program runs roughly six months and covers basic obedience, collar conditioning and force fetch, then moves on to marking singles and introducing the dog to gunfire. The handling program, also about six months, advances the dog in handling on land and in water, including sitting on a whistle and taking basic casts. Live bird fees are discussed with the owner before they are charged.

Facility

Dogs board and train at a heated and insulated all-season building with limited kennel space, and outdoor runs are kept seasonally for dogs coming back for refresher training. Call to discuss costs, since the site asks owners to call for pricing.
