About Stubbs Dog House

Small-scale boarding and training above Lake Memphremagog

Stubbs Dog House is a specialty pet boarding facility at 440 Topper View Drive in Newport Center, set in the hills above Lake Memphremagog. Owners Sam Keras and Jeff Lyon opened it in 2024 after moving to Newport, bringing previous experience in daycares and veterinary settings. Sam is also a professional trainer certified through the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT).

Training

Training options include group classes, private lessons and day training. Boarding and daycare guests can add enrichment such as walks, play, training, food toys and basic grooming.

Boarding and daycare

The facility has fenced outdoor space and walking trails, and each guest has its own private 4x6ft suite for meals and bedtime, with calming music and pheromones to ease anxiety. Owners can receive regular updates and photos. Overnight boarding is $45 per dog per night, with a $28 afternoon checkout fee, and daycare runs Wednesday through Friday at $28 a day, currently with a waitlist. Limited cat boarding is $30. Rabies, distemper and Bordetella vaccines are required for dogs. Tours are by appointment, reservations are required, and first-time clients can book a free trial.
