About Ivy League Dog Training & Boarding
What they offer
Ivy League Dog Training & Boarding is a training and boarding business on County Road 2 near Walcott, in the countryside south of Fargo. Its training programs are stay-and-train boot camps that combine structured sessions with everyday reinforcement during the dog's stay, working on obedience, leash manners, socialization, jumping, hunting and everyday behavior.
Programs
A one-week boot camp for puppies four to six months old covers touch, leave it, off, controlled leash walking, come, sit, stay, down and place. A two-week boot camp for dogs six months and up adds recall and platform work, and a four-week boot camp builds toward advanced skills, real-life exposure and, for some dogs, extended stays and off-leash work, and helps prepare for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. A training tune-up refreshes dogs that have finished a program, and a short remote dog training clinic introduces e-collar communication for recall, direction and obedience.
Method and boarding
E-collar work and corrective training are introduced when the trainers judge them appropriate. Owners go home with the tools and techniques to keep reinforcing the training. The business also offers boarding, with guided walks and one-on-one play time as add-ons.
