About Camelot Dog Training
In-home training across Connecticut
Camelot Dog Training, based in North Haven, provides in-home dog training across Connecticut. Founded by owner and head trainer Tom Porier, it says it has worked with thousands of dogs over more than 13 years. Its Connecticut service areas include New Haven, Milford, Wallingford, Meriden, Hartford, Waterbury, Danbury and Fairfield County.
Method
Camelot describes proven, balanced methods and follows LIMA, the least intrusive, minimally aversive strategy likely to succeed, alongside reward-based training and real-world practice at places like the park, the vet and restaurants. It says it trains owners as well as dogs.
Programs
Obedience training covers sit, down, place and recall, loose-leash walking, impulse control and door manners, public behavior and off-leash programs. The in-home puppy program, for puppies 7 weeks and older, covers potty training, crate training, basic obedience and socialization. Behavior work addresses aggression toward people or dogs, reactivity, fear and anxiety, resource guarding, separation anxiety and excessive barking, and service dog training for psychiatric and mobility assistance is available as an add-on. Pre-adoption evaluations and wedding and special event training are also offered.
