Balanced Dog Training is Paul Goduti's in-home training service, based in Orange and offering training in the Orange County and Long Beach areas. Paul has been a professional dog trainer since 1979 and is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.

Programs

Pre-obedience training is for puppies between 7 and 16 weeks and covers socialization and preventing unwanted behaviors; it is included, where it applies, in every obedience program. Obedience programs require owner participation and teach walking on a leash without pulling, automatic sits, stays and boundaries in and around the property. Basic on-leash and advanced off-leash lessons are available separately or together, and each lesson lasts about an hour. Adolescent, adult and senior dogs are eligible.

Behavior work

Behavior modification covers problems such as house soiling, destructive chewing, digging, chasing people or cars, aggression toward people or dogs, and not coming when called. The site says positive reinforcement methods are used and chain collars are discouraged. Call to arrange an in-home demonstration.
