About Great Dog Training

Residential training in Sarasota

Great Dog Training is a Sarasota dog training school run by trainer Nicholas, who says he graduated with a Masters Certification from the National K9 Learning Center. The school credits him with serving South Florida for over a decade and training thousands of dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments. He now trains at a kennel just off Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota. His training includes a lifetime guarantee and free tune-up training whenever a dog boards at that kennel.

Programs

Nicholas uses residential training, giving a dog many short lessons a day separated by rest periods. K-9 Pre-School is a one-week residential program for puppies and young dogs covering housebreaking, crate training, socialization, basic obedience, leash walking and manners. K-9 Prep School is a one-week program for dogs of any age with minimal behavior issues, adding on-leash heel, sit, down, come, place and off. K-9 Finishing School is a two-week program for off-leash obedience. K-9 Service College is a customized service dog program, usually 2 to 12 months, ranging from $5,000 to $35,000. Private hourly lessons and group lessons for leash pulling are also offered.

Getting started

Training usually begins with a free consultation or a Free Puppy Personality Evaluation, which produces a written score of the puppy's personality traits. The school describes its approach as balanced training. Call (941) 928-9949.
