About Pet Peeves Dog, Cat, Horse and Bird Training
Positive-only training for four kinds of pets
Pet Peeves Animal Training is a Clearwater business at 1000 Court St, with its office inside Pinellas Animal Hospital, that trains dogs, cats, horses and birds of all breeds and ages. It uses only positive reinforcement: praise, treats, toys and gentle touch, with no pinch collars, choke chains or shock collars. Its guiding philosophy is "Training That's Enjoyed At Both Ends Of The Leash."
The owner
Founder and owner Wendy Kelly, M.Ed., is an applied animal behaviorist with a Master of Education in Clinical Psychology and postgraduate studies in applied animal behavior. She is credited with over 19 years of applying operant conditioning and positive reinforcement, and she worked for several years as a psychological therapist. She is also the author of the book "Buji and Me."
How it works
Every program starts with a one-hour assessment. Training can happen at the owner's home, or basic obedience can be taught at the office in 7 days, and phone consultations are available outside Pinellas County. Behavior work covers aggression, pets that fight, elimination problems, chewing, jumping, car chasing and yard boundaries without electric fences. All programs come with a written 100% money-back guarantee.
What to ask
Ask about program pricing after the assessment.
