About Dog Training Club of St Pete
A volunteer training club since 1955
The Dog Training Club of St. Petersburg is an all-volunteer club at 4400 B 34th Street North in St. Petersburg that has served Tampa Bay's dogs and their people since 1955. Its purpose is to share members' knowledge and experience to help the community train their dogs, and every class is open to the public and taught with positive methods.
Classes
Most people start with a puppy or basic obedience class. The class menu covers puppy classes, including the STAR Puppy Program and Puppy Too, obedience and manners, and competition obedience from puppy through Utility. Agility, rally, tricks, conformation, flyball, scent work, conditioning and therapy dog classes follow. Dogs that trained elsewhere can be evaluated to find the right class level.
More than classes
The club hosts agility, obedience and scent work trials, flyball tournaments, seminars and workshops, performs demonstrations at community events, supports local rescues and sends teams to the state agility and obedience competitions.
Visiting
Visitors can drop in Monday to Wednesday between 6:00 pm and 8:30 pm or Tuesday mornings from 10:00 am to 11:30 am to watch a class and talk to instructors. Call (727) 527-5568 or email registration@dtcsp.org.
