About Canine Command

In-home training with Joe DeSimone

Canine Command is a dog training business at 21750 River Ranch Road in Estero, founded by Joe DeSimone, a certified trainer from Animal Behavior College. Canine Command credits Joe with over 23 years of training dogs. He works in clients' homes or on site across Lee and Collier Counties, including Fort Myers, Naples, Bonita Springs, San Carlos Park and Miromar Lakes, with flexible hours that include Saturdays.

Approach

Joe uses fear-free positive reinforcement and LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) methods endorsed by Animal Behavior College and the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, of which he is a member. He also teaches owners leadership and canine posturing through facial expression, vocal tone and body movement. Joe is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, is Red Cross certified in canine first aid and volunteers as a trainer for Lee County Domestic Animal Services.

Services

Training covers problem solving and behavior modification, including reactivity, aggression, separation anxiety, resource guarding and house-training, plus basic and advanced commands, good manners, leadership training and Canine Good Citizen preparation. Every client receives the Canine Command training "Bible." Joe says two to three visits are normally enough.
