About Canopy Tails

Training and grooming one-on-one

Canopy Tails is a dog training and grooming business serving Tallahassee, Quincy and Havana, pairing calm one-on-one grooming in a private salon setting with personalized dog training. The owner cites 8+ years of hands-on experience with dogs of all breeds, backgrounds and behaviors, and a background spanning professional dog training, animal behavior and canine cognition.

Background

The owner writes of growing up in Quincy, studying Zoo Animal Technology at Santa Fe College, working at the Houston Zoo, then working as a Canine Coach and Playroom Manager at a dog daycare. As Lead Dog Trainer and Manager at a later facility, the owner says they personally trained over 300 dogs through board and train programs, alongside a career in salon and mobile grooming.

Training

Training serves puppies and adults, from basic to advanced skills, including leash pulling, jumping on guests, ignoring commands and behavior around other dogs. Training sessions can also focus on a dog's grooming needs, for anxious dogs, wiggly puppies and tired seniors.
