About Spot-On K9 Training
What they offer
Spot-On K9 Training works in Manhattan and in Connecticut, and its Connecticut page names Fairfield County towns such as Greenwich, Stamford, Westport, Norwalk, Darien, New Canaan and Bridgeport. Services there include private behavior modification training for leash reactivity, dog and people aggression, separation anxiety, play-biting, jumping and resource guarding; off-leash recall training with a remote e-collar; a short Walk Doctor clinic for pulling and chaotic walks; and private puppy classes covering housebreaking, crate training, play biting and leash handling. FaceTime or phone consults are offered for owners outside the in-person area.
How it works
The site says Connecticut classes meet at your home, a nearby park or in your neighborhood, and it asks owners to get in touch before buying so the number of sessions fits their goals. Each session is followed by a recap and how-to files, with phone and email support afterward. Connecticut clients are welcome at the drop-in group classes in Central Park until group classes are established in Connecticut. The training style is called Positively Balanced Training, and the tools may include slip leashes, prong collars and e-collars alongside toys and play.
Who runs it
Owner Stephen Baum describes himself as an NK9 Certified Trainer and a graduate of the NK-9 Learning Center for Dog Trainers. The About page says he volunteers with a Connecticut rescue, training hard-to-place dogs, and the business calls itself veteran-owned.
