About Julia Lane, CPDT-KA (Spot On K9 Sports)

In-home training around South Elgin

Spot On K9 Sports began in 2007 as backyard agility lessons in South Elgin and later ran group classes for years. Since 2025 the business has focused on in-home training, with a service area within 30 minutes of South Elgin and travel fees beyond that.

Programs

Private lessons are sold as packages. Puppy Start (3 lessons) covers potty training, destructive chewing, nipping, leash manners and basic obedience. Good Manners (3 lessons) teaches sit, down, come, stay, polite greetings and impulse control games. Great Manners (5 lessons) adds a fast recall and loose-leash walking around distractions.

Reactive dogs

Reactive dogs are a stated specialty. Reactive Rehab is a 6-lesson private package aimed at managing and reducing reactive behavior, and the site describes helping owners who dread meeting other dogs on walks.

Method

The site describes its approach as science-based, positive reinforcement dog training.

What to ask

Ask which package fits your dog's age and issues, whether your address falls inside the 30-minute service area, and how lessons are scheduled.
