About Paws of Pride, LLC

Range of Services

Paws of Pride, LLC runs out of a facility in Chardon and advertises "over 22 years of experience." The published menu is unusually detailed and priced: a $65 Meet & Greet, puppy training, three obedience tiers (basic through advanced), individual sessions, socialization and public-manners classes, behavior modification and shaping, aggressive-canine assessment and training, and therapy/emotional-support dog prep. That breadth suggests a business comfortable taking on everything from green puppies to reactive or aggressive dogs.

Method

The stated philosophy is "excellence through understanding," applied to "training, guidance, and handling techniques." In practice the toolkit is balanced: the site references positive reinforcement alongside e-collar classes and "correction collar training," plus perimeter training. No trainer certifications are listed on the site, so owners weighing the aggression or e-collar programs may want to ask about specific credentials and experience before committing to one of the multi-session packages.

What they can help with

Early socialization, house-training and first manners for young dogs.
Behavior modification for unwanted or problem habits.
Help for dogs that bite, lunge or react out of fear or aggression.
Calming a dog that barks or lunges at other dogs or people while on leash.
Therapy Dog Training
Prep to visit hospitals, schools and care homes as a certified therapy dog.

Working with Brian at Paws of Pride has been an absolute game changer for me and my dog, Sundae! When we started, she struggled with dog reactivity, pulling on the leash, poor recall, and crate anxiety. With Brian’s help, she’s truly a different dog now.

Sundae now walks calmly without pulling, comes when called, and has made huge progress with crate training. Best of all—she can now attend dog-friendly events and completely ignore other dogs, something I never thought would be possible a few months ago!

Brian’s training style is patient, supportive, and practical. He gave us the structure and tools we needed, and he truly cares about both the dog and the owner. I’ll definitely reach out again when we’re ready for more advanced skills. Highly recommend Paws of Pride to anyone looking for real results and a positive training experience!

We had an incredible experience with Brian training our Weimaraner puppy, Saint. From the very first session, Saint listened to everything he said-I honestly wanted to make a cardboard cutout of him to keep in the house because she behaved like a perfect little angel whenever he was around!

Thanks to Brian, Saint learned to sit, lay down, stop eating rocks (a miracle!), no more counter surfing, no jumping up, and no more biting. He gave us amazing crate training guidance and really helped with walking manners, too. His calm, clear approach made it so easy for both Saint and us to understand what to do.

We are so grateful for Brian’s help and highly recommend him to anyone with a puppy or dog who needs guidance. He’s the real deal!

Brian is a lifesaver! After rescuing two Dalmatians and having a very unsuccessful board and train, we began working with Paws of Pride. After each session our dogs showed significant improvements and we as owners began to feel much more confident in our ability to train them. We went from being dragged around on a leash to having two, well mannered walkers! With 6 basic obedience classes under our belts, we are very excited to continue working with Brian in future training sessions. You can tell Brian really cares about your pup and will never push them beyond their limits for the day. If our dogs were overwhelmed or fearful, he picked up on that and wouldn’t force any more on them which meant a lot to us.

We came across Brian, at Paws of Pride, while researching hands on training, who could be adaptive and straight forward with our 1yr old rescue German Sheppard. Brian exceeded those needs by being extremely knowledgeable, encouraging, and motivating. After our very first session, we saw improvements in our pup and looked forward to the remaining sessions.
His ability to tailor the training to our needs, as well as our dog’s, displayed his in-depth experience and skill. His guidance, pointers, and tips all gave us the confidence to correctly train our dog, which led to immediate results and behavior improvements.
Bottom line, we are very happy and amazed with the outcome of our basic obedience sessions. This training will aid us well into the future. We’re fortunate to have come across Brian and highly encourage others to seek him out for their training needs.

When we brought our new dog home she was a one year old border collie/shepherd mix. We have two cats and they were instantly frightened of this very high energy dog that wanted nothing more than to chase the kitties around the house. Brian came in and in a very short amount of time, the dog began understanding that she couldn’t chase the cats around the house. They can now all be in the same room together and they are even beginning to be friends. I couldn’t ask for better results! Thank you Paws of Pride!
