About A Better Way to Board-Dog Training

What they offer

A Better Way to Board is a home-based puppy board and train and boarding service in the Littleton and Greenwood Village area of south Denver. It specializes in puppies of all ages, and dogs live with the trainer, Dan, and his family during their stay.

Board and train

The Pawsitive Start program is a two-week board and train covering relax on a mat, name games, recall, an anti-jumping cue, sit, down, stay, leave it, targeting and loose-leash walking. Pawsitive Start Jr. adds potty training and is offered as a two-week or a ten-night program. Every program ends with a one-hour in-person lesson on the final day, a training video to keep and frequent photo and video updates. The site notes these programs are not for emotional or behavioral issues such as aggression, separation anxiety or reactivity on walks.

Boarding

The boarding side keeps puppies and puppy-loving adult dogs in the family home with a spacious yard, supervised play and activities, and the site says it may not suit very large or giant breeds because of the puppy focus. Training uses positive reinforcement with a clicker paired with treats.
