About A2 Dog Spot

Who runs it

A2 Dog Spot is run by Tony Dulgeroff and works across the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti area of Michigan.

How it describes its own method

The business calls its approach SPOT, which it says stands for "Specialized Punishment-free Obedience Training", adding "Being certified in canine psychology and obedience I use science-based training techniques." On punishment it is explicit: "Yelling at your dog or hitting your dog will only make matters worse."

Its fuller statement of method, in its own words, is broader than the name alone suggests: "Dogs learn from positive and negative reinforcement, consistency, and repetition. Dogs require loving leadership, structure, and discipline."

Equipment it sells

The site also runs a shop, headed "Train Your Dog with A2 Dog Spot", which lists training equipment including Herm Sprenger prong collars and slip leads, with a category for dogs over 30 pounds. Owners who read "punishment-free" as meaning no collar corrections should read that alongside the method statement above and ask directly which tools would be used with their dog.
