About Action K9 Sports

What they offer

Action K9 Sports began in 1985 as a herding facility open to any herding dog, regardless of breed. It sits on six acres across the road from the San Diego Safari Park in Escondido and keeps a flock of sheep for training and trials.

Herding lessons

Lessons serve both newcomers to the sport and handlers who have herded for years, and instruction is tailored to the breed, since loose-eyed dogs work differently from strong-eyed dogs. Dogs from six months to ten years old can take part, and teams move through arenas of different sizes and open fields as they advance.

Getting started

Owners who are new to herding can book a herding instinct test to see whether their dog wants to work stock.
