The building

The site gives an unusually concrete description of the training space: the building is air-conditioned, has a restroom, and “The entire building has Agility mats for the owner’s and dogs comfort.”

Who runs it

Under a heading of About the Owner, the site says: “My name is Heather. I’m a wife and mother to three daughters and three golden retrievers. I’ve always had a love and passion for dogs my whole life. I worked as a cosmetologist for over 15 years but wanted to make my hobby a profession. So I started All About The K-9 to bring my knowledge and expertise to my community.” Ask what certification or training school stands behind her work.

How to get in touch

The business asks prospective clients to call, text or email, and says a text usually gets the fastest reply; it asks that messages include the dog’s age and training experience. One published charge appears on the contact section, and it is worth knowing before calling: “due to high demand, any phone call exceeding 10 minutes will be classified as an over-the-phone training session, which incurs a charge of $25,” with an appointment requested beforehand. Ask about class fees. Contact is 815-545-5521, plus Instagram and Facebook links.
