About At Home Dog Trainer

At Home Dog Trainer is Michah Davis, based in Ballston Spa and working in clients' homes across Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady counties. The site's own tagline is "Training dogs, changing lives," and it opens not with credentials but with the situation: dreading coming home, being embarrassed to have people over, walking the dog at odd hours to avoid other dogs and the neighbors.

The published problem list

This is one of the most specific service lists in the metro, and it is written as symptoms rather than packages: reacting to other dogs on a walk, aggression to people or dogs, destructive behavior when left alone, inappropriate chewing, escaping and not coming when called, anxiety at the vet's office, barking and whining, jumping on people or furniture, housebreaking and marking, answering the door, not listening to commands, and pulling on the leash. A separate line offers help choosing a dog before you get one.

Credentials as published

The site states that Michah Davis is an honors graduate of the Animal Behavior College with Bachelor of Science degrees in psychology and philosophy from SUNY Oneonta, that she worked as a veterinary assistant at a Ballston Spa veterinary clinic for five years, and that she is Fear Free Certified as well as Pet CPR and First Aid trained. These are the business's own claims.

Where the work happens

Every session is in the home. The reviews the business chooses to publish return to that point repeatedly – one client singles out that the trainer "comes to our house and works with our dogs and us in our own environment" – and the reviewers themselves are spread across Delmar, Scotia, Clifton Park and Waterviet, which matches the four-county area the site claims.
