B the Leader Dog Training is a behavior training center in Springfield serving Lane County. It was founded by owner Julia Bowlin, known as "Eugene's Dog Whisperer," who has been training dogs since 2004.

Method

The program is based on Cesar Millan's technique of bringing balance and order to the home, with the stated aim of a bond built on trust, respect and love. Owners learn a specific way to feed, walk and play with their dog so training becomes part of daily life. It targets jumping, barking, mouthiness, leash pulling, running away, reactivity to other dogs and anxious behavior, and it suits puppies and newly adopted dogs.

How it works and pricing

Clients watch an orientation video, then get 1:1 coaching. A training session with the video and one 2-hour session is $220 at the center or $245 in your home. Touch-up sessions are $205 at the center or $225 at home. Weekly playgroups are $10 for the first hour and $5 for each additional hour for adult dogs, and $10 per hour for puppies. Dogs over 6 months complete the training program before joining playgroup.
