About Backyard Bones

Backyard Bones is an indoor dog park and enrichment center at 114 Old Route 6 in Carmel. Alongside the park itself it runs day care, hourly play passes, swimming, grooming and training classes. Its founder also co-founded Unstoppable K9 in Mahopac.

Training classes

The published class range is basic obedience, impulse control and advanced obedience, with a private training option available on request. Class dates and times change, so the site tells owners to check the current schedule or ask staff. The stated position is blunt: training is vital for any dog's success.

Puppy play groups

Hour-long puppy play groups are run as socialization rather than free-for-all play. They are supervised by the center's trainers and handlers, who keep the play safe and teach the puppies what appropriate play looks like with their own age group.

The facility

There is an indoor park and an outdoor park with agility equipment to play on, plus a pool. Handlers stay with the dogs all day. New dogs go through an interview before joining group play. Hours are 7am to 7pm on weekdays, 10am to 4pm on Saturdays, closed Sundays.
