What they offer

Bark Dog Training is a Devils Lake trainer run by Sami, who has trained dogs since 2020 and in 2022 became a Certified Dog Trainer through the Peninsula School for Dog Trainers. Each dog and family gets its own training plan, aimed at success in the real world, and new clients start with a contact form describing the dog and the help wanted.

Approach

Rather than covering a problem with a new behavior, the trainer looks for the root cause and the emotion underneath it, and uses what naturally motivates the dog as the foundation for change. The methods are described as evidence-based, drawing on innate drives, canine psychology and associative learning: the dog first learns a language for communication, a management plan is put in place, and then the remaining problem behaviors are addressed. Food, toys and praise are at the core of the training.

Good to know

In April 2026 the site said the trainer was taking a winter break to continue their education and planned to see clients again in spring 2026, so ask about current availability when you call.
