Private training that comes to you

Barker Canine Academy is a mobile dog training business in Houston, serving the Midtown, Montrose, Jersey Village and Cypress areas. Owner and trainer Rosina Barker lists LVT and CPDT-KA credentials and is a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. Sessions take place at the client's location or another agreed spot, by appointment, and remote training and phone consultations are also offered.

Courses

Puppy Obedience is for dogs 5 months and younger and adds potty training, socialization and dog language. Basic Adult Obedience starts at 6 months. Advanced Adult Obedience refines behaviors with distance, distraction and duration, mostly at a public park, and phases out treats by the end. There is Canine Good Citizen preparation and testing, group obedience sessions, and behavior modification for anxiety and aggression, including thunderstorm anxiety, leash aggression, separation anxiety and animal aggression.

Approach and prices

Rosina describes a personalized curriculum built on positive training methods. Private obedience and private CGC sessions are $85 each, and the AKC CGC test is $60. Behavior modification is priced individually.
