About Barkitect University

A separation-anxiety specialist in Machesney Park

Barkitect University is unusual locally in that it is built around a single problem. The site's headline is "Helping Dogs Learn to Be Okay Alone," and the whole of its main page addresses owners whose dogs panic when left – pacing, drooling, whining, barking, scratched doors, chewed shoes and complaints from neighbors. It cites the American Kennel Club in describing separation anxiety as one of the most common behavioral challenges trainers and vets see, and says experts estimate it affects up to one in four dogs.

The approach

The site frames the problem as panic rather than misbehavior: "Separation anxiety isn't about your dog being clingy or 'bad.' It's about your dog being in a state of panic." It is equally direct that this is not a quick fix – "Separation anxiety doesn't fix itself or go away on its own. It's not like training your dog to simply sit and stay. And piecing together random tips from Google doesn't solve the puzzle. But it IS treatable" – and describes a structured, patient process aimed at teaching a dog to relax and feel safe while the owner is gone. The site says its author started training dogs in 2009 and has since worked one-on-one with hundreds of families, and that adopting their own anxious dog changed how they understand the emotional side for owners.

Getting started

The entry point offered is a free "End Separation Anxiety" session to build a step-by-step plan together. Client and veterinarian testimonials are published on the site, including one from a vet who says "I would recommend you to all my clients, my friends, and my family." Some secondary pages on the site still show template placeholder content, so treat the main page as the reliable source and confirm service details by phone.
