Big Sky K9 is a dog training company in the Belgrade and Bozeman area of the Gallatin Valley, working with dogs and owners from across Montana, including Billings, Missoula and Helena. Owners and trainers Sam and Sara Ernst lead the team. Big Sky K9 holds that training the owner is as important as training the dog, and programs are tailored to each dog's interests and motivation, for all breeds, ages and issues, from reactive, anxious or aggressive dogs to reliable off-leash obedience.

Programs

Board & Trains offer immersive training in a home environment and in public, realistic settings, aiming for a dog whose training carries over to anyone, anywhere. Private lessons pair owners one-on-one with a trainer at the facility for basic and advanced obedience, rewarding good behavior and correcting unwanted or unsafe behavior. Behavior modification programs, as board and train or private lessons, target aggression, reactivity and anxiety. Puppy programs for puppies over 10 weeks and under 5 months cover basic obedience, socialization and communication. Therapy and CGC training prepares dogs for testing, with evaluation through The Alliance of Therapy Dogs or the AKC Canine Good Citizen program.
