About Black Diamond K9
Training and boarding in Belgrade
Black Diamond K9 is a small Belgrade business with over a decade of professional training and pet care experience, offering training programs plus boarding and daycare on a two-acre, fully fenced facility. Owner, operator and head trainer Joe Williams opened it in April of 2021, originally as Black Diamond Dog Company. He began as an apprentice to Carrie Hunt, founder of the Wind River Bear Institute, after she trained his Dutch Shepherd, and later served as head trainer for Bozeman's Know Thy Dog.
Programs
Training runs as a two-week board and train or a two-week day training program (Monday to Friday, twice, with the dog home each evening and weekend). E-Collar Skills teaches off-leash recall under distraction, sit, stay, impulse control and a loose off-leash heel through patient, gentle conditioning. Leash Skills covers loose leash walking, sit, stay, public access manners and place. Dog Re-Socialization uses controlled interactions with dog-safe dogs, followed by Back-To-Pack sessions for maintenance.
Prices
A two-week board and train is $2,000, or $2,200 with an e-collar; two-week day training is $1,500, or $1,700 with an e-collar. Two-dog options are also offered, and the business hopes to bring back group classes in the autumn of 2026.
What to ask
Consultations are free by phone; ask which program fits your dog.
