Puppy and behavior support in Pendleton

Blue Mountain Canine offers puppy training, behavior support and therapy dog preparation in Pendleton, serving in-person clients in Pendleton, Milton-Freewater, Hermiston, Pilot Rock and the Umatilla Reservation, plus online clients anywhere. Co-founders Frances and Mycal have helped hundreds of dogs and families since 2012 and are committed to humane, non-aversive methods and evidence-based ethical standards.

Approach

The work is guided by four values: Care, Context, Capacity and Collaboration. Training focuses on real-world skills like welcoming guests, walking on leash, settling at home and navigating public spaces, and it considers learning history, environment, genetics and individual needs. Prevention-focused support addresses barking, leash reactivity, fearfulness and trouble settling.

Trainers

Frances is an Accredited Dog Trainer (IAABC-ADT), licensed Family Dog Mediator, certified Dog Bite Prevention Educator, licensed Therapy Dog Team Evaluator and Be a Tree instructor. Mycal is a Certified Drink With Your Dog instructor with a background in family case management.
