About Boss K9
Balanced Training in Cleveland
Boss K9 Cleveland describes itself as a professional balanced dog training business located in the St. Clair-Superior neighborhood of Cleveland (6016 St. Clair Ave). The site's stated goal is to get each dog "operating at their very best," working with both puppies and adults, including dogs with serious issues – the site goes as far as saying they can help even if a dog has been recommended to be put down, using a "real world approach."
Programs and Philosophy
The core programs are Board & Train, framed as the most effective option with the dog fully immersed in training in a zero-association environment, and Private Lessons, one-on-one sessions of 45-75 minutes held weekly at the owner's home, a predetermined location, or the facility. Clients also get access to structured boarding that includes training touch-ups, plus free follow-ups, with all equipment included and "no surprise pricing." Grooming is offered as well.
Training coverage includes aggression rehabilitation, socialization, basic obedience, off-leash training, and puppy training. The philosophy centers heavily on bond, trust, and respect between owner and dog, and the team emphasizes continuous education and adapting to the individual dog. The "balanced" self-description is explicit in the site's branding. Specific certifications are not published, so none are listed.

They also helped with Kai’s nervousness in new situations and some reactivity he had. He listens so well now. When he gets a little too rowdy with the other dogs he responds instantly to commands. We were concerned being able to have him around fosters and he’s recently been doing amazing with our foster and that’s such a relief. He comes to softball tournaments and is able to sit in a bed stay during our games.
Valkyrie can be super vocal and bossy and they helped her work through some of that in public as she can often come off “aggressive” with new meets. She still has some excitement with new meets but she is able to calm down quicker than prior. Walking her on a leash has been absolute night and day, I don’t have to worry about pulling and being all over the place now. Her excitement with new people is easier to overcome now that she will sit on a bed stay as people enter the house.
When our 4th, Percy, is healed from surgery the plan is to enroll him as well to help with his high energy around new people. He doesn’t realize how big he is and just wants to jump on everyone.
They have given us the tools to keep working with our crew, while still taking fosters in. And it’s amazing to see them care about the dogs so much. I would have been so afraid to send my dogs off for a board and train prior to meeting Anna and her Bossk9 team. We even have a safe place to board them when needed which previously I was to nervous to attempt anywhere due to some of their behaviors.
Thank you so much Boss K9
The trainers are highly skilled and professional—you can tell they genuinely care about the dogs and know exactly what they’re doing. We loved getting daily updates with photos on their Instagram, which made the whole process feel personal and reassuring while Tucker was away.
What really sets Boss K9 apart is how they taught us how to reinforce the training at home. It wasn’t just about training Tucker—it was about empowering us as pet parents, and that hands-on education has made all the difference.
Bonus: We chose day camp as an alternative to boarding. It’s perfect for busy schedules and keeps Tucker socialized without the overnight commitment.
Highly recommend Boss K9 to any Cleveland dog owner looking for top-tier training with lasting results
