About Canine Compound

What they do

Canine Compound publishes three services – training, boarding and consultations – from an Athens base, under the line "Northeast Georgia's quality training you can trust".

Method

The approach is described as balanced and evidence-led: "Our balanced training methods are backed and proven by both science and success." The emphasis is on teaching the owner as much as the dog – understanding how a dog's mind works, then putting that into action.

Who runs it

The business is run by Sam and Dan, who state a combined 22 years of professional dog training experience. Sam began volunteering with rescue organizations at 14, is an ABC graduate, attended the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers in California, and has worked in police K-9 kennels, grooming salons and training facilities. Dan's training work began with their first Belgian Malinois and covers dog psychology, puppy development, advanced obedience and protection work. They moved to Athens in early 2017.
